Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 tbsp Tailhook Taco Blend
  • 1 can (15oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15oz) kidney beans, drained & rinsed
  • 1 can (8oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 small white or yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, cilantro, sliced jalepeños

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground meat: In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, until soft. Add the ground meat and cook until browed, breaking apart as it cooks.
  2. Add Tailhook Taco Blend: Stir in the taco blend and mix well to coat meat.
  3. Add remaining ingredients: Pour in diced tomatoes (with their juice), tomato sauce, kidney beans, and water. Stir everything together.
  4. Simmer: Bring the chili to simmer, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
